This local cuisine restaurant is located in Ouchi-juku, roughly 15 minutes by car from Yunokami-Onsen Station. The building still has its straw thatched roof, for an olden times sensation you can feel in your skin. They are careful to use 100% specially grown soba for their juwari soba. “Ten zarusoba” with freshly made soba and homemade vegetable tempura is popular. Also, you can purchase “shingoro” —local dish of Minami Aizu—in front too. The half-polished rice is stuck on a skewer, coated with 10-year miso and then cooked on a charcoal grill—perfect food for walking and eating.

食事としての利用もできるお店ですが、食べ歩きとして利用しました。福島県の郷土料理である「しんごろう」で有名です。天気も良かったので、食べ物片手に大内宿をぶらり歩き。おいしかったです。
地産地消の味

江戸時代の宿場の雰囲気を今に残し、参勤交代や生活物資の流通の重要な街道として大きな役割を果たしていたそうです。手打ちそばをはじめ、放し飼いで育てた会津地鶏を使ったカレーや名物しんごろう等地元こだわりの食材と旬のものを取り揃えているそうですが、まだ準備中でしんごろうという名物の練り物みたいなものしか食べられませんでした。
自家製味噌がおいしい

昼食後に訪れ、しんごろうを頂きました。自家製味噌はほどよい甘辛さで、再度炙り直して頂けるので、熱々の状態で食べられます。それほど量は多くないので、お昼前後でも問題なく食べられると思います。
