  天狗堂の大きな天狗面が特徴的な臨済宗寺院でした。紀伊由良駅から徒歩10分程かかりましたが、参道に向かう交叉点には大きな天狗の標識もあり迷う事はありませんでした。きちんと整備された境内は広くオフシーズンでも参拝者が目立っていました。
