- 山幸彦として知られるヒコホホデミを祀る、南九州最大級の神社です。現在の社殿は江戸時代の建物で国重文、彫刻などの装飾や天井の植物の餌が美しく巨大な社は壮麗な感じを覚えました。比較的近くにある霧島神宮とはまた違う趣で興味深かったです。
