Kyoto Aquarium has a come out with a new summer event "BASSHAAAN". This word is a Japanese onomatopoeia meant to emulate the sounds of splashing and crashing water.
This summer event takes place at the aquarium’s Dolphin Stadium where children are invited to approach the pool during the show. Getting soaked by the “water curtain” and by the dolphins will be a refreshing experience. Just be sure to bring them a change of clothes.
The event is free with an aquarium ticket, but check the homepage for times, as they change daily.

The Night-time Aquarium is a special event that takes place at different times every year. This year, it will continue until December of 2019.
Take a magical family stroll through the aquarium during extended evening hours. Receive a personal lantern to see the water tanks and enclosures lit up making for a beautiful time.

The Kyoto International Manga Museum is the largest manga museum in Japan, with around 300,000 volumes in its collection.
Inside you’ll find exhibits featuring works from the Meiji and Postwar era of Japan, as well as current and international works. At the Manga Wall, you can borrow any one of their 50,000 volumes, and go out to the lawn and lie down for a read.

Ninja Climbing Shinobori (忍登) is the newest attraction at Toei Kyoto Studio Park, opened in March 2019.
It lets participants wear a harness and climb up a 7-meter wall with various challenges before jumping all the down. Participants must be over 3 years old and 100 cm tall. Trying out all the walls usually takes around 40 minutes in total. Only a fixed number of participants are allowed per day, so head over early.

A Cold, Chilly Kingdom
Toei Kyoto Studio Park holds this event every summer, and it’s a water gun fight that’s super popular with kids.
This year it’s the “Unchi Team” version, where kids will have the chance to shoot a giant poop-shaped water-bomb. It’s a wild time that helps kids escape the summer heat.

Wild Japanese Macaques
This is where you can see wild Japanese macaques right up close. Monkey Park Iwatayama has a little monkey park at the top of the mountain, which is actually very close to the entrance.
