    Kyoto Aquarium has a come out with a new summer event "BASSHAAAN". This word is a Japanese onomatopoeia meant to emulate the sounds of splashing and crashing water.

    This summer event takes place at the aquarium’s Dolphin Stadium where children are invited to approach the pool during the show. Getting soaked by the “water curtain” and by the dolphins will be a refreshing experience. Just be sure to bring them a change of clothes.

    The event is free with an aquarium ticket, but check the homepage for times, as they change daily.

    The Night-time Aquarium is a special event that takes place at different times every year. This year, it will continue until December of 2019.

    Take a magical family stroll through the aquarium during extended evening hours. Receive a personal lantern to see the water tanks and enclosures lit up making for a beautiful time.

    If that wasn't enough, attend the nighttime Dolphin Stadium. It will most assuredly put a smile on everyone's face. The event price is included with an aquarium ticket.

Trying out all the walls usually takes around 40 minutes in total. Only a fixed number of participants are allowed per day, so head over early.
