Yoshida-dera Temple was founded by Eshin Sozu Genshin at the end of the 10th century at the request of Emperor Tenji. In Ikaruga town, it is affectionately known as ``Pokkuri-dera‘‘, and it is said that if you pray to the main image of Amida Nyorai, you will be able to escape to paradise without suffering from long illness.
