노리쿠라타케의 산기슭에 펼쳐진 오쿠히다 온천향 중에서도 가장 오래된 온천지로, 에도 시대 말기에 쓰인 “히슈시”에는 과거에 다케다 신겐이 히다를 공격했을 때 늙은 흰원숭이에게 이끌려 온천을 발견했다고 하는 “흰원숭이 전설” 기록이 남아있다. 히라유 온천지에는 약 40개의 원천이 있어 장소에 따라 탄산수소염천과 염화물천, 유황천, 단순천 등 다양한 수질의 온천을 즐길 수 있다. 가미코치, 노리쿠라타케에서도 가까워 등산 거점으로도 이용되고 있다. 최고 90도에 이르는 고온의 온천수로 만든 명물 온천 달걀 “한타이타마고”도 인기다.
