비와코 호수를 주제로 사람과 호수와의 관계를 소개하는 박물관. 그 중에서도 비와코 호수를 중심으로 담수 생물을 전시하는 수족관 전시실은 일본 최대의 규모를 자랑한다. 고유종인 비와코 오나마즈 메기 등의 전시를 비롯해 세계의 담수어와 수중 산책을 즐길 수 있는 길이 10m의 터널 수조 등 볼거리가 많다. 비와코 호수의 역사를 디오라마로 소개하는 코너와 지역 주민들의 생활 자료를 전시하는 코너도 있다. 레스토랑에서 맛볼 수 있는 우럭 요리도 인기다. JR 구사쓰 역에서 버스 '비와코 하쿠브쓰칸마에 역' 하차.

We started with the aquarium, which is one of the best Ive seen (and Ive seen a lot of them). Really great exhibits --we spent about 2 hours there. The restaurant was also good and the other areas...

My son is 9 year old he really enjoyed this place and i did too if you want to spend a day learning,studiing and have fun too this is the place.
