다카사키 백의대관음

다카사키시의 상징 '다카사키 백의 대관음'은 1936년에 건립된 철근 콘크리트 제의 관음보살이다. 관음보살이 걸친 백의는 깨달음을 추구하는 청정한 마음을 나타낸다. 높이 41.8m, 무게는 약 6,000t이며, 건설 당시는 동양 제일의 크기를 자랑했다. 태내에는 20체의 불상, 고승상이 늘어서 있으며, 9층(어깨 높이)까지 올라갈 수 있다. 최근에는 인연을 맺어주는 성지로도 화제가 되고 있으며, 발렌타인에는 '붉은 실 기원제'가 개최된다.
