마쓰에 시립 문학관으로, ‘귀 없는 호이치', ‘설녀' 등을 담은 소설 《괴담》으로 유명한 고이즈미 야쿠모(래프카디오 헌)의 기념관. 고이즈미 야쿠모 구 저택에 인접한 일본풍 건축 건물로, 1934년에 개관. 2016년에 새롭게 단장됐다. 고이즈미 야쿠모는 그리스 태생의 아일랜드인으로, 영국, 미국 등을 거쳐 일본에 온 후 귀화했다. 작가, 교사, 저널리스트 등 다양한 얼굴을 가진 고이즈미 야쿠모에 관해 소개한다. 인물상에 관한 자료, 유품, 원고, 저서 등을 전시하고 있다.
