오사키 하치만구 신사

1607년 다테 마사무네에 의해 창건된 신사. 1952년에는 아즈치 모모야마시대의 유일한 유구로서 사전(본전, 디딤돌, 배전)이 국보로 지정되어 있다. 액땜, 방재, 만복, 필승, 순산의 신으로서 모시고 있다. 전국에서도 최대급의 새해맞이 행사 '마키타키 축제'로 잘 알려져 있다. 정월의 대나무 장식과 지난 부적 등을 불태워 바치며, 그 불기운 때문에 '돈도야키'라고도 부른다. 또한 벗은 차림으로 참배하는 '맨몸 참배'도 유명. 교통편으로, 센다이역 앞에서 버스를 운행하고 있으며, 오사키 하치만구 앞에서 하차하여 도보 5분.

This is a lovely shrine to visit. Not terribly big but nicely laid out and the entrance via the 100 stairs is quite majestic.
