土浦で時間があったので土浦城址に行ってみました。市立博物館に車を停めて、本丸跡と二の丸跡を整備した公園を一周しました。建物としては東西の櫓と霞門が残っているだけで広い公園として利用されています。子供を遊ばせる広場やひょうたん池の周りの日本庭園を散歩するのもよいでしょう。西櫓の中には展示物もあります。ブラタモリでも紹介されていました。
