お店の人になぜビーフビレッジなのかきくと昔短角牛の郷だったらしく今はほとんど飼ってないらしいがそのまま残っているらしい。そのためレストランメニューも何品か牛肉料理が残してあるとのこと。盛岡から宮古に抜ける道の最初の道の駅。この周辺には店らしきものはないので休憩場所として利用価値あり。
