히로시마역에서 버스를 타거나, 아스트램 라인을 이용해서 버스로 환승을 해야 갈 수 있다. 외곽에 있어 미야지마에 가는 만큼의 시간과 교통비가 든다. 어느 도시에 있을 법한 평범한 동물원이지만 다양한 동물이 살고 있어 가족들과 나들이 하기에 좋은 곳이다.

北総鉄道の大町駅が最寄り駅。駐車場は500円で大人の入場料は440円。規模は小さいがオランウータンやレッサーパンダもいて楽しめる。周囲は梨園が多くて環境は良い。子供連れの場合、歩く距離が少なく園内に遊具もあるから引率者は、それほど疲れない。
