The Usui Pass was once said to be the most difficult part of the Nakasendo.
In this tour, we will aim at the viewing platform from the former Karuizawa Ginza through the promenade of Usui Pass.
There is a promenade on the road that goes through the cottage of the grove, and you can reach the viewing platform in about 1.5 hours.
From the observatory, you can enjoy a magnificent view of Mount Asama and Mt. Myogi.
As this is a handy hiking course, people of all ages can participate.
You can freely disperse on the viewing platform, so you can stop at the Kumano Emperor Shrine or take a break at the pass‘s teahouse.
On the way back, you can either return the way you came or take a bus back to the old Karuizawa.
Former Karuizawa Ginza ⇒ (Usui Pass Promenade) ⇒ Viewing platform (disbanded on site)
