Asagaya Tanabata Festival

Event
A huge event started in 1954 with the aim of revitalizing Asagaya's shopping arcades, this festival is considered one of Japan's three greatest Tanabata festivals. During the festival, the area in front of the station and local shopping arcades are decorated with colorful Tanabata decorations and elaborate papier mache sculptures, giving all of Asagaya a festival mood. There are also numerous street stalls and stands, and every year a great many visitors come to enjoy the festival.
