Yamaga Lantern Festival

A festival with a long history and the biggest summer festival in Yamaga. The sight of the 1,000 Lantern Dance, in which women dance with gold lanterns on their head to the sounds of a traditional folk song called the Yoheho-bushi, is mesmerizing. The soft light of the lanterns illuminates the night, creating a beautiful and magical scene. Some of the many other festival events include a ceremonial offering of lanterns, a torch parade, and a fireworks display.
