Ojiya Grand Fireworks Festivalおぢやまつり大花火大会

The Ojiya fireworks festival, launching around 7,000 fireworks, is one of the prominent festivals of the prefecture. The fireworks display is held on the second day of the three-day Ojiya Matsuri Festival, the largest of Ojiya City. The highlight of the festival is the ultra-wide Vesuvius oversized starmine display, which is made possible from the sum total of the citizens' participation funds. The extremely long 1,000 meter display is a sight to see. The site of a Nishiki carp ascending the Niagara Falls fireworks display, only to be seen at Ojiya, is now so popular, that Nishiki carp are associated with Ojiya City.
