Sukagawa City Shakado River Fireworks Display須賀川市釈迦堂川花火大会

Event

One of the largest fireworks shows in the prefecture, it is considered one of the Big Three Fireworks Displays in Fukushima, drawing in roughly 300,000 visitors each year. The nighttime summer sky is illuminated brilliantly by the 10,000 fireworks launched-particularly large-size shells like 18 inch shells. Must-see rounds include the geijutsu dama created by famous National prize-winning pyrotechnics masters, and the musical starmines set off in sync with beautiful choral music by junior high school students in Sukagawa. On the evening of the event, traffic is closed from the Tobu Circular Route at Mirai Ohashi Bridge, so please be advised. Luckily, the viewing area is only a ten-minute walk from JR Sukagawa Station for easy access.
