Noshiro Fireworks Show港まつり 能代の花火

Event

This awe-inspiring, large-scale fireworks show is a sort of competitive performance by four fireworks suppliers in Akita Prefecture. Around 15,000 fireworks are set off, including starmines, formed fireworks that express people's messages to others, and 36 inch shells. The program is structured to maximize entertainment, so it can be enjoyed by a wide range of people, from children to adults.

Famed for its sake and samurai, Akita prefecture offers quintessential Japanese culture in a non-touristy setting. Alongside the celebrated rice paddies and historical sites of the region lies dramatic natural scenery in the form of the rugged coastline of the Oga Peninsula and the Dakigaeri Gorge, best visited in autumn, when the leaves begin to change color.
