Hachinohe Fireworks Display (八戸花火大会)
This fireworks display held at a fishing port is unique to Minatomachi Hachinohe, and is beloved as a summer tradition in Aomori. The fireworks are emitted from a location close to the audience, giving them an impressive show of sound and light from the large fireworks. There are many stalls and shops, as well as the traditional nagashi-odori event, available to enjoy before the fireworks. Feel free to indulge in the festival atmosphere in the nice ocean breeze.

Aomori Areas

Centuries-old stories of samurai at Kakunodate and the remains of millennia-old archaeological sites including the likes of Isedotai invite history buffs to delve into Aomori’s fascinating history. As the most northern prefecture on the Japanese mainland, Aomori enjoys a cooler climate, which makes it a welcome escape from the southern cities for combining castles, art galleries, and summer festivals with the great outdoors.
