Jindai Botanical Garden
Jindai Botanical Garden is located in Chofu City, Tokyo. There are around 100,000 plants belonging to approximately 4,800 individual plant species. With its rose garden, azalea garden, plum tree garden, Japanese clover garden, etc., the Jindai Botanical Garden is famous as a place where visitors can enjoy beautiful seasonal flowers at different times of year, and in spring it is a well-known place for viewing cherry blossom, with approximately 600 cherry trees of various different varieties, including Sato-zakura, Yoshino, weeping cherry, etc. Besides the Cherry Tree Garden, where most of the cherry trees are located, there is also an impressive row of cherry trees on the west side of the main lawn, near the rose garden. Toilets, shops, and paid parking available. The Garden is open from 9:30 to 17:00 (last admission is at 16:00). The admission charge is 500 yen for adults, and 200 yen for junior high school students (junior high school students who are resident or studying in Tokyo are admitted free of charge). The Garden is closed on Mondays (except when a public holiday falls on a Monday, in which case the Garden is closed on the next working day).
