Jokoji Park
A park located in Seto City, Aichi Prefecture renowned for its cherry trees and fall foliage. Inside the park, the main temple building of the Joko-ji Temple, an ancient Rinzai Buddhist temple built in 1336, and the mausoleum of Tokugawa Yoshinao, the first lord of the ancient Owari Domain, are designated as National Important Cultural Properties. Shoden Pond, accentuated by a rokkaku-do hexagonal hall, can also be found in the park, and in spring, some 100 Yoshino and Shiki-zakura cherry trees come into gorgeous bloom along its banks. The blossoming trees reflected off the surface of the pond create a beautiful scene like something out of a painting, and the pond has become a popular spot to take that perfect cherry blossom season picture. The park grounds also contain a natural grass field to relax on and a camp ground, making it a great place for families with children to enjoy flower viewing as well.
