Yase
Famous for its cherry trees and autumn leaves, this valley of the Sakyo Ward of Kyoto is nestled between the Hiei Mountains and the Tanba Mountains. The popular spots for viewing cherry blossoms are along the road between the Eizan Electric Railways’ Yase-Hieizanguchi Station and Mt. Hiei Cable Yase Station, and along the cable car route. The best time for viewing Yoshino or hill cherry is from mid to late April, when trees bloom from the foot of the mountain on up. The Eizan Cable (charge) operates only between 9 a.m. and 19:00. Toilets and shops available. No parking.
