Kiyomizu Park

Event
Kiyomizu Park is centered round the Kiyomizu-dera Temple, a Buddhist temple of the Tendai school that is located in the Kiyomizu Town of Yasugi City, Shimane Prefecture; it is a place where visitors can enjoy the beauty of nature at any time of year. Kiyomizu-dera Temple is believed to have great powers for driving away evil spirits, and there are many Prefectural and National Important Cultural Properties located within the Temple grounds. Kiyomizu Park is also famous for its beautiful cherry blossom in the spring. From early April to mid-April, when the cherry blossom is at its best, the Yoshino cherry trees are in full bloom against the backdrop of the Temple’s three-tiered pagoda, enabling visitors to enjoy views that are both magnificent and deeply moving. There is no admission charge for entrance to the Park; parking available.
