Komakiyama
Komakiyama is a hill in Komaki City, Aichi Prefecture that rises to an elevation of approximately 86 meters above sea level. It was the site of the former Komakiyama Castle, which was built by Oda Nobunaga. A museum in the style of a castle’s Tenshu-kaku (main tower) is located on the summit of the hill; with its beautiful natural scenery, Komakiyama Park is very popular with local residents. In spring, the Park is a popular cherry blossom viewing spot, with around 1,200 Yoshino cherry, weeping cherry and hill cherry trees in bloom. The “Komakiyama Cherry Blossom Festival” is held in late March and early April to coincide with the period when the cherry blossom is at its finest; the cherry trees are illuminated in the evenings, food-stalls are set up, and there are a variety of special events. Toilets and parking available.
