Odawara Castle Park
Odawara Castle Park is a Park laid out around the restored Tenshu-kaku (Main Tower) of the former Odawara Castle, which was completed in 1960; it has been designated as a National Historic Site and as one of Japan’s Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots. There are around 320 Yoshino cherry trees in the Park; the sight of their pinkish-red petals drifting in the breeze, set against the backdrop of the Tenshu-kaku tower and of the castle moat, is truly magnificent. The “Odawara Cherry Blossom Festival” is held from late March through into early April when the cherry blossom is at its best; visitors can enjoy the magical sight of cherry trees lit up by paper lanterns, and the annual children’s procession. Toilets and shops are available and there is paid parking nearby. The nearest station is Odawara Station.
