Musashi-Kyuryo National Government Park
A lush, natural forest park located in Namegawa Town, Hiki County, Saitama Prefecture. Park facilities include a spacious natural grass lawn, botanical garden, and cycling course. Starting in early March with early-blooming Kanhi-zakura cherries, numerous cherry tree varieties growing on the park’s grounds come into bloom one after another, including hill cherries, Yoshino cherries, Kasumi-zakura cherries, and Sato-zakura cherries. In the Flowering Tree Garden, a five minute walk from the South Gate, visitors can enjoy a variety of spring flowers, including rapeseed flowers and some 500 cherry trees. The best time to view the cherry blossoms is from late March to early April, and during this period one popular activity in the park is to hold a flower viewing party and barbecue in the Flowering Tree Garden’s Cookout Square. Hours are from 9:30 to 17:00 March to October. Entry 410 yen for adults, 80 yen for elementary and junior high school students. Shops, toilets and paid parking available.
