Hasedera Temple

A Buddhist temple which is the head temple of Shingon Buzan Buddhism. Visitors can enjoy seasonal flowers on the temple’s grounds, and accordingly it is nicknamed the “Flower Temple.” Numerous National Treasures and Important Cultural Properties stand on the temple’s grounds, including the Main Hall, a designated National Treasure which was donated by Tokugawa Iemitsu. From late March to late April, some 1,000 cherry trees on the temple’s grounds come into beautiful bloom, including weeping cherries, hill cherries, and Yoshino cherries. During the flowering season, visitors can enjoy a sweeping view of pink-blossomed trees from the Main Hall. Temple grounds are open from 9:00 to 17:00 in March and from 8:30 to 17:00 April to September. Entry 500 yen for adults, 250 yen for children. Toilets and paid parking available. The nearest station is Hase Station.
