Ja no Hana Gardens
A garden located in Motomiya City, Fukushima Prefecture. The origins of the garden date back to 1899 when the Ja no Hana Hyakkaen garden was built. The Ja no Hana Palace in the center of the garden was created with many materials now extremely difficult to obtain, and in 1996 the structure was registered a Tangible Cultural Property. In addition to being able to enjoy vivid blooming flowers throughout the year here, in autumn the fall foliage in the garden is so beautiful it is said to rival Kyoto's own lovely fall colors. Some 400 Japanese maples grow in the garden, almost all of which are over 100 years old, and visitors to this popular destination can take in both the natural beauty and history found here.
