Inariyama Park
The origins of this park are said to date back to when Kato Naoyasu, the first lord of Niiya Domain, brought back saplings from Takao in Kyoto and planted them here. Located in Ozu City, Ehime Prefecture, today the park is a renowned destination for viewing Japanese maples. Over 3,000 maples, including some more than 200 years old, grow on the park's grounds, and in the fall the grounds are dyed crimson by their leaves. During the peak foliage season in November, a Maple Festival is held, with festival stalls and huge numbers of visitors putting on a gallant party. The park is one of the top destinations in Ozu for enjoying beautiful, fire-like autumn foliage.
