Miyama Park
A municipal park adjacent to National Route 30 in the center of Tamano, Okayama Prefecture. Some 150 thousand trees spanning over 300 varieties, including cherry trees, Japanese apricots, gingkoes, and Japanese maples grow on the vast grounds of the park, which are equivalent in size to 40 Tokyo Domes. The Miyama English Garden (separate entry fee required), designed around the concept of a traditional 20th century English garden, is well-reviewed for the contrast provided by the fall foliage in autumn, which differs from that of a Japanese style garden. Other popular spots for enjoying autumn colors include the park's flower and tree garden and its valley of maples. In most years, the foliage is at its best starting around late October.
