Kuju Mountain Range
Kuju Mountain Range is said to be the ridge of Kyushu. The name is a general term for a group of mountains including Mt. Kuju in Aso-Kuju National Park. In autumn the mountainsides are dyed with Japanese maples, Japanese rowans, Japanese wax trees, and dodan-tsutsuji. The beautiful scenery looks like a red and yellow carpet. At the foot of the mountain visitors enjoy Japanese pampas grass blowing in the autumn wind.
