Avenue of Dawn Redwoods

This avenue of dawn redwoods is considered one of the 100 most beautiful roadside tree scenes in the country. Some 500 dawn redwoods stand along the 2.5 kilometer long road, creating an exotic atmosphere and seasonal scenery for visitors to enjoy. In addition to being beautiful when green and lush in the spring, in the fall, their leaves turn a vivid orange-red, reminiscent of a sunset. This extremely beautiful sight was also selected as one of Japan's top 100 fall foliage locations in 2010. The trees, straight road, and the mountains of the surrounding Nosaka-sanchi area interweave to create stunning picturesque scenery.
