Ise Jingu shrine Naiku Shin-en Garden

Event
The highest Shinto shrine in the country, Ise Jingu shrine is also Japan's oldest and biggest shrine, and has been visited by countless worshippers for over 2,000 years. The shrine is also a popular destination to enjoy elegant fall vistas. The best time to enjoy the autumn foliage here is from late November to early December, and the Japanese maples along the approach to Naiku (the inner shrine), the Uji Bridge, and Kazahinomi-no-miya Bridge are particularly beautiful. Those looking to enjoy a mixture of reds, yellows, and greens are recommended to come around November 20.
