Rikugien
A garden created by a daimyo lord in the Edo period which was modeled after the styles used in the Genroku era. A nationally designated Special Place of Scenic Beauty, the weeping cherry trees beyond the Naitei Daimon gate are particularly famous. The garden is also a popular destination for enjoying autumn foliage, and in the fall Japanese maples, wax trees, and gingkoes decorate this 300 year old garden with their seasonal colors. The garden is also illuminated at night during the season.
