Ohyama-Afuri Jinja lower shrine
This Shinto shrine is located on Mt. Oyama, a mountain widely worshipped in ancient times to pray for rain and thus also known as Rainfall Mountain. The lower shrine of Ohyama-Afuri Jinja is also a renowned destination for fall foliage. The best time for enjoying the colorful leaves on the mountain and in the temple is from mid- to late November, and during this time the trees are lit up at night, creating a magical beauty for visitors to enjoy.
