Tsurugaoka Hachimangu shrine

Event
Popular due to its connection to shogun Minamoto Yoritomo, this Shinto shrine protects the samurai of Kamakura. In fall, the grounds are colored by autumn foliage, and Genpei-ike Pond, Yanaiharashinchi Pond, and the area in front of the Kamakura Kokuhoukan Museum are particularly beautiful. Visitors are encouraged to stroll the shrine grounds and enjoy the beautiful scenery created by nature.
