Kamisunagawadake Onsen
The waters of this hot spring, Kamisunagawadake-onsen, located in Kamisunagawa Town southwest of Asahikawa City, can be enjoyed at the Panke no Yu hotel standing at the foot of Goryoyama. The hotel was established in 1970; its bathing facilities are also open to non-guests. The waters of the sodium hydrocarbonate saline cold mineral spring are said to treat some 17 ailments, including nerve pain, muscle soreness, joint pain, frozen shoulders, motor paralysis, joint stiffness, bruises, sprains, and sensitivity to cold. The Kamisunagawadake Nihon Teien, a 20 thousand square meter Japanese garden where visitors can enjoy highly seasonal natural beauty, is located nearby. Garden sights include beautiful garden rocks, a three tier waterfall, zigzagging bridges, arbors, and the wild bird bridge, a 40 meter long bridge from which you can hear the calls of some 18 bird species, and visitors can be soothed by the garden's scenery and the songs of birds.
