Yunogo Onsen
A hot spring district counted as one of the three great skin beautifying hot spring villages of Okayama Prefecture. This ancient hot spring area is said to have been discovered by the great priest Ennin during the Heian period as he traveled the Saigoku Kannon Pilgrimage, and is also known by the nickname the Heron Hot Spring. The area is host to numerous Japanese-style and Western-style hot spring hotels and day trip bathhouses, free footbaths, and Shinto shrines with fountains fed by source springs, and visitors can enjoy hot spring waters in a variety of ways here. The area's clear chloride springs contain an abundance of calcium, sodium, and other minerals as well as radium-infused bubbles and are said to help alleviate digestive disorders, rheumatism, women's diseases, and skin diseases.
