Samurai Mansion Street
This street, a five-minute drive from Fukue Airport and a 10-minute walk from Fukue Port, is southwest of Fukue Castle Ruins (Ishida Castle Ruins). The street is notable for the many samurai residences standing along it, and much period scenery remains untouched here. The castle-like stone walls are particularly eye-catching and are made of small, leftover semi-cylindrical stones piled on top of each other. The ostentatious gates of the residences are also acclaimed as something you can't see anywhere else. In addition, there are facilities where visitors can come in contact with the history and culture of Goto, such as the Fukue Cultural Hall and the Goto Tourism and Historical Materials Museum.
