Ebisudani Onsen
This day-use hot spring bathhouse is situated deep in the mountains and is surrounded by lush forest. The bathhouse makes use of a cloudy, dark reddish-brown sulfate spring, a type of spring which is almost unseen in Oita Prefecture. The bathhouse has separate men's and women's indoor and outdoor baths which are outfitted with handrails for customer comfort. One of the nice things about the bathhouse is that customers can enjoy a quiet, relaxing soak while taking in natural beauty. The waters of the bathhouse' spring are said to treat not only nerve pain and cuts, but also chronic skin diseases and even hardening of the arteries, and many come here to engage in therapeutic hot spring bathing.
