Homei Bridge
"This bridge was named after the verse in Shijing, the oldest Chinese poetry book, with the meaning ""The phoenix cries out, here is the high hill (Takaoka) it calls home."" It crosses the Senbo River, which flows near Kanaya-machi, the heart of Takaoka's metal casting industry. There are two phoenix statues made by Naoki Tominaga to the left and right of the bridge. Takaoka City became a metal-casting center in 1609, when Maeda Toshinaga invited seven metal casters here to build casting workshops and help bolster the castle town's economy."
