The cozy shop, which has a conspicuous red awning out front, prides itself on confections such as its baked-to-perfection pound cakes and its gently-baked butter sables. Their visitandines, which fills the mouth with the flavor of almonds and brown butter, make ideal gifts or souvenirs. Their Mont Blancs, which feature a meringue base topped with custard cream, fresh cream, and French chestnut paste, strike an enjoyable harmony between the three different types of cream. Most conveniently, the shop opens at 8 a.m., two hours earlier than many shops.
