Suiyo Shrine

Shrine
A shrine in the Akizukinotori district, Asakura City. The shrine was founded in 1859 and enshrines the spirit of Kuroda Nagaoki, first lord of the Chikuzen Akizuki Domain. The grounds of the shrine are adjacent to the Akizuki Castle ruins and the current main hall of the shrine was built during the early Meiji period. The former main gate of Akizuki Castle, called the Kuromon (black gate), has been reconstructed on the grounds of the shrine.
