Naya Factory
This porcelain studio is located in Shibanoshinya-cho, Nara City. Operating out of a remodeled old Japanese home in the Naramachi area, a neighborhood centering on the former grounds of the Gango-ji Temple where much traditional townscape still remains, the studio displays and sells Akahada ware, a traditional Nara pottery. The studio also makes pottery lanterns which throw a variety of interesting shadow patterns on nearby walls when a lit candle is placed inside.
