Aizu Yaichi Kahi

Other Historic Site/Building
"This monument, standing on the grounds of the Toshodaiji Temple in Gojo-cho, Nara City, is inscribed with a poem by poet and art historian Yaichi Aizu: ""Stepping on the shadows / Cast by moonlight on / The round pillars of / The great temple / I become immersed in reminiscence of its past."" Aizu passionately researched Nara's Buddhist art, and similar monuments inscribed with his poems dot the city in places such as Noborioji-cho and Takabatake-cho."
