Tatsuta River

This first-class river flows through Ikoma City, Heguri Town, and Ikaruga Town, joining with the Yamato River. A picturesque destination mentioned in poetry since ancient times, Ariwara no Narihira and Noin's poems about the river are particularly famous. The river is also a famous place to view fall foliage in autumn. From late November to early December each year, the river's banks are adorned with the spectacular colors of Japanese maples, mountain maples, and trident maples.

イカルが見れるかもしれません

地元斑鳩町の由来の鳥であるイカルが、１１月から４月ごろにこの辺りに現れるとの事。滞在した際には、見る事が出来ませんでした。川が綺麗で、遊歩道沿いを４０分程散歩してベンチでお弁当を食べました。雰囲気のある遊歩道です。
在原業平の時代から紅葉で有名なスポットです。

法隆寺参拝の後に紅葉で有名な竜田川まで足を伸ばしました。在原業平の和歌「から紅に水くくるとは」とある古代からの紅葉の名所です。焼く2㎞くらいある遊歩道は綺麗に整備されているので家族連れでの散歩によいと思います。

三室山から上流に向かって遊歩道が続いています。暖かくなり散歩をしに行きました。気持ちがいいです。竜田揚げのタツタもこの竜田川から来ています。
