Senshukuji Temple

This Buddhist temple was founded by the great priest Gyoki to enshrine a statue of Bhaisajyaguru in 725 when he visited the area on a retreat. The elegant temple's grounds are situated on a gentle slope and encompass a temple gate, main temple building, and belfry. Some 1,000 regular and satsuki azaleas grow on the grounds, blooming in profusion when in season. The temple's circular strolling garden with a pond, backed by mountains, is also impressive.

お花のお寺で有名です。お盆の暑い時期でしたので、参拝者は私達だけでした。ツツジの季節に訪問することをおススメします。

春うららの春の一日。あてもなくバイクで走り回るのもアレなので、花の寺巡り御朱印帳にしたがって訪ねたのが、このお寺。普段ではまず近くを通ることのない処にツツジが咲き誇る素敵なお寺がありました。ちょうど花も満開で楽しい一日を過ごせました。

関西花の寺25ヵ寺参拝で、いきました。駐車場は、広いけど行く道は狭いです。村内、地域内に大手毬のは花を植え、行く道すがら楽しめます。お寺も、ツツジやシャクナゲ、藤、大手毬で美しいお庭やお花が楽しめます。大手毬の苗を道すがら三百円で売ってました。
