This historic structure, once used as a drugstore and dentist's office, was remodeled and made open to the general public in 2003. A traditional Japanese townhouse outfitted with heavy latticework, windows covered with fine latticework, and a chimney, today it serves three roles: As a remodeled example of old fashioned architecture in area with traditional townscape, as an information center providing information on destinations one can walk to in the area, and as a community center supporting development in the area.

宇陀松山城の城下町として栄えた古い町並みが残る宇陀市大宇陀の松山地区。その街並みを貫く通りのほぼ真ん中に、まちづくりセンター千軒舎がありました。この建物も、歴史を感じる古い建物で、明治時代前期に造られた、伝統的な町家です。もともと薬屋、歯科医院として使われていた内藤家住宅を改修したもので、無料開放されていました。
