Katsumi Center勝美センター

5 Reviews

A shop directly managed by Katsumi, a shop specializing in eel with multiple shops across the prefecture. They offer a variety of products from carefully selected eel to Hamamatsu souvenirs. They make sure to only use larger-sized, hand-picked eels in their products. They use well water drawn from 100-meters beneath in the deep mountains to completely wash away the characteristic muddy smell associated with eel. As it's not steamed you can enjoy the rich authentic full taste of eel. Across the street you'll find the Mikkabi Interchange location of Katsumi Eel.

Loved the dried eel bones! I bought some to bring back to my office. Also bought a bunch of green tea candies and small dried fish. I really liked the fact I could taste what I was seeing. I also...

Open space local goods. Reasonable prices. Variety galore. Unagi speciality. Staff are welcoming and friendly.

          Shizuoka Areas

With the giant Pacific Ocean to the south and the great Mount Fuji to the north, Shizuoka prefecture is blessed with some of the best views the country has to offer. The white sand beaches of the Izu Peninsula are a rare find on mainland Japan, neighbored by beautiful cliffs, tumbling hills, and natural hot springs. As Japan's largest producer of green tea, the age-old tradition of tea drinking is ubiquitous in Shizuoka, from the miles of tea fields to the old tea houses hosting traditional tea ceremonies.
